The PROGRESS Project
The training was conducted under the PROGRESS project, a four-year initiative (2022–2026) led by Swisscontact and co-funded by Sweden and Switzerland. The project's mission is to develop a robust ecosystem of Local Technical Consultancy Providers (LTCPs) capable of delivering affordable, high-quality sustainability and productivity services to garment factories — particularly those in Tier-2 and Tier-3 supply chains that have historically lacked access to such expertise.
Building Local Capacity
The program addressed a critical gap in Bangladesh's RMG sector: the limited availability of affordable technical support for smaller factories. By equipping local firms like SusNex with GRI-certified expertise and productivity improvement methodologies, the PROGRESS project is creating a self-sustaining market for sustainability services that can operate independently of international consultancy firms.
Gender Equality and Social Inclusion
Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) remains a foundational principle of the PROGRESS project. The initiative has maintained its commitment to ensuring that 50% of trained consultants are women, reflecting the belief that sustainability transformation must be inclusive at every level.
